Well clearly such a weekend has not existed in my life for quite some time. It was pretty nice not to pack my life up in a bag, grab my pillow, and say goodbye to my friends for the weekend. It was also incredibly nice not to have to think about getting up at 8 to ski.
The weeks after the carnival season ends are fun. We still ski as a group most days (although, with all of the work I've had I've been around less than others) and it's more relaxed and about just getting on snow. Last week we skied at my dad's friend's house where he's set up trails. It was a gorgeous day and we did some good double pole work before chillin' with the horses.

When the week ended (after going to Friday classes...weird) it was so nice to have nothing but free time. This weekend was Sam V's birthday and I got to spend the whole weekend with my suite mates.

In other big news, it had rained and been pretty warm during the week. With both excitement and dread there had been talk about the snow melting. All of this talk ended as soon as the snow started Sunday night. It snowed straight into the morning and was a full blown blizzard by the time I woke up. As I was getting up I got a text saying that class was cancelled and immediately rolled right back over and went back to sleep. Snowdays at SMC are pretty much unheard of, but the snow came so fast yesterday that there was really no preparing for it. Walking anywhere was an adventure and for the beginning of the day it was a struggle just to get out of Canterbury. At around 11 all classes were officially cancelled.
There were people outside everywhere just running around and playing in the snow. I spent a little time doing work, but then took advantage of the free day and relaxed in the suite watching Sex and the City. After dinner when the snow had stopped falling and we had about 2 new feet of it Dachelle, Erin, and I decided we wanted to go out and play.

It's now Fat Tuesday and I'm eating my last pint of Ben & Jerry's until after Lent. The big concern is how to get everyone's cars out of the parking spots. Poor Andrea has an internship tomorrow and is quite stuck. I can't help but wonder how my recently flat tire is going to fare, but I'm too lazy to go find out. I guess we'll see Friday when I try to leave for Spring Break! No good.
